- FunkBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10This is unacceptable. Help bring light to this despicable act by ABC.
- dkm201, on 11/01/2007, -7/+1Ron Paul: Capturing the Spammer Vote?
Rep. Ron Paul of Texas has been running something of a stealth campaign for the Republican nomination. His campaign Web site isn’t exactly ready for prime time and it’s not clear he’s doing much in the way of fund-raising. Anyone interested in contributing is encouraged to send a check to his exploratory committee, based in the Texas town of Clute, which may be best known as the home of the annual Great Texas Mosquito Festival.
But could there be some sort of ground-swell within the Republican ranks? This week, the weekly Pajamas Media presidential straw poll showed Paul in first place among Republican candidates, gathering 1,125 votes from readers. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani came in second place with 556 votes, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney attracted 358.
Perplexed by the results, the site looked into the voting and discovered massive fraud. Apparently, some 400 votes for Paul came from “someone behind a proxy at a large aircraft manufacturer,” 200 votes came from St. Louis and another 85 came from “someone at the University of South Carolina.” Efforts to expunge the ballot-box stuffers showed that Giuliani actually won the weekly poll, although it’s not entirely clear how many votes were tossed for fraud and the poll still shows Paul with a commanding lead. –Amy Schatz

- aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Great article. Why did the previous stories covering this one get buried? Censorship by ABC News is obvious, but at least we have other outlets (such as digg) to compete for our eyes.
- interpaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Dr. Ron Paul is a 10th-term Congressman, Veteran, flight surgeon, and a medical doctor specializing in obstetrics and has delivered more than 4,000 babies. He has earned the nickname "Dr. No" for voting against any bill he believes violates the Constitution; In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.
Check this out:
He's never voted to raise taxes.
He's never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war
NOTE: Paul is the ONLY Rep. candidate to vote against Iraq. Clinton, Biden, Hagel, Edwards, etc. voted for and has since flip flopped like John Kerry...which cost him the 2004 Election.
As if these salient points aren't enough, Ron Paul wants to:
- Bring our troops home from Iraq & end the war
- Secure our borders from terrorism
- Stop illegal immigration & no amnesty for illegal immigrants
- Get rid of the IRS for fairer taxes for you
- Limit big government in your private affairs & lives
Vote Ron Paul for President in 2008! RonPaul2008.notlong.com- relic2279, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I am TOTALLY against censorship even if it benifits me or my veiws. As I am a independent/democrat, I wouldn't vote for any of these guys but the censorship related to this and the other articles of MSNBC, ABC etc even here on DIGG disgusts me.
Off topic:
Vote Democrat and lets get this country back on track... the track it was on while the last democrat was in office. You know, when we had the greatest economic expansion in US history? When the middleclass didn't have to live paycheck to paycheck... When a so called "tax refund" wasn't actually needed to help pay a 2nd mortgage. People forget so easily.... Well I didn't forget.
It's the party not the man. Only the ignorant think it's the man. Ignorance is bliss.

http://www.digg.com/2008_us_elections/MSNBC_can_t_even_get_Ron_Paul_s_Profile_Right - Cutkomp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6There is blatant censorship taking place in many places. People, companies and organization who know how to milk the system and mooch off of the huge, wasteful government are tremendously scared of Dr. Paul. Foreign countries that receive billions in aid and depend on us for their existence are also suspect.
- GentooRiverRat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The proof is in the pudding. Here is a screen shot of the comments. Where are they now?
http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/1851/abccensoredoy9.jpg- FunkBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4yeah, i've got about 10 screenshots of the action myself. It appears they've stopped deleting comments for the time being.
- adamrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Can someone post a screen capture of the poll? It appears that ABC just pulled it.
- FunkBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4it's still there, i just had to refresh several times to get it.
- DrStrabismus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks like they have finally added Ron Paul to the poll too!
- FunkBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i wish there was a way to crosslink one or all of these articles over to the Technology area.... I'm sure they're still fired up over the censorship of the hd-dvd key.
- FunkBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Victory!
- adamrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice to see Ron Paul up there now. Does someone have a screen capture of the poll before he was added? Please post it here or e-mail it to mail@ronpaulhq.com. Thank you!
- FunkBuddha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it should be in your mailbox momentarily.

Thanks! - interpaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ABC Poll Excludes Ron Paul -> Call and Demand Ron Paul!
Call 212-456-2700. Ask to be connected with "dot com". Talk to the gentleman there and ask that Ron Paul be included in the poll!
UPDATE:
IT'S WORKING! I called and they gave me an adamant "HE'S (Ron Paul) GONNA BE INCLUDED!"
Keep calling! hahaha this is fun. I can't think of anything better to do on a Saturday. :D- aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah I agree. Thank goodness this didn't occur on a weekday when most of us are at work (libertarians tend to work, Republicans tend to wage war, and Democrats collect welfare checks and vote to tax and spend)
- dogster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dr. Ron needs to declare war on ABC and sic his loyal internet army against those miserable dogs.
And he should do it in a highly visible way - free publicity for the underfunded but noble candidate! - aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow. We got them to add Ron Paul to the poll, and they reset it. This digg thing works.
- aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its a mixed bag, though, because if he continued to be censored, it would have made a bigger story.
