Can the internet predict a Presidential Democratic nominee?
downloadsquad.com — In this last push towards the Democratic convention, and with a race that many are saying is too close to call, we figured it was perfect time to put some crowdsourcing to work and see how accurate it might be. So, what do the Interwebs tell us about Tuesday's primary to end all primaries? Frankly, a lot.

(sorry - I just couldn't resist)- gypsi, on 03/03/2008, -2/+14any measure using the internet puts ron paul as emperor of the known universe

It was also a false flag.- GhostyBoy, on 03/03/2008, -10/+2Building 7 side by side with a controlled demolition:

Hey, you brought it up.- ncairns, on 03/03/2008, -4/+4Yep, sure looks similar.
Tell me though, what kind of educational background do you have that makes you think it was a controlled demolition? Because my old matsci professor Thomas Eagar disagrees, and his colleagues at WPI agree.

Not that they'd know better than you, or anything.
- ncairns, on 03/03/2008, -4/+4Yep, sure looks similar.
- tastypaste, on 03/04/2008, -2/+6That's what we get for using a Spice Standard. Emperor Ron Paul has advocated a return to the Gold Standard and an end to the Spacing Guild. Why won't anybody listen? What we have now is not what the Founding Mentats wanted. Over reliance on Spice leaves us vulnerable to Fremen terrorists.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 03/04/2008, -0/+4I've been out-nerded. I bow to your superior geek-skills.

- DeathfireD, on 03/04/2008, -2/+1You can't trust the web since the vast majority that vote in all these online polls, make up memes, prank call TV stations, and post on forums are just kids in high school that cant vote and that are following the current "political Internet trend" that they see their friends online talking about. This causes a wave of popularity for one person. Ron Paul, is a perfect example of this. Sure he had some good ideas but the majority of Internet buzz was literately by teens or people outside of the US that cant make their voice heard any other way.

- Qtip42, on 03/04/2008, -2/+2The wisdom of crowds on the net can make the right choice.......It just can't outweigh the stupidity of the U.S. population..at least not yet. The older we get, the easier it will get to use the net as a predictor of such things.
- Schlaefer, on 03/04/2008, -2/+1Looking from overseas it as astonishing how fast the internet attention (rose and) fall for him. And if the Ron Paul hype pattern applies no one will remember Obama next week. ;)

- morningmatters, on 03/03/2008, -0/+3Good article. IMO the online betting sites are probably the most accurate when it comes to political predictions. People tend to be a lot more honest about their research when their money is on the line.
- tastypaste, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1That's about the only case in which money makes people honest.
- swordedge, on 03/04/2008, -4/+2I want to vote for none of the above and force an entirely new slate of candidates
- coffee200am, on 03/04/2008, -6/+2The Obama Files....
http://www.freedomsenemies.com/_more/obama.htm- Pherdnut, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1Well it was nice of the site's owners to actually declare their intentions honestly.
- smacksaw, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1Well, I don't think this site tracks things like insider trading and other illegalities. Hillary has her own network of insiders - the superdelegates that she has already either promised the moon to or has tons of dirt on, and they will vote for her. And that's the problem with superdelegates. They don't give the disenfranchised a voice. They do the opposite. They hold the representative of the disenfranchised hostage to powerful political influence. The Democrats need to get rid of this, stat.
- foxhaze, on 03/04/2008, -1/+1Easily. Obama already won the primaries. He's going to lose the election. I win, SUCK MY *****.
- Pherdnut, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1To McCain?
- doctorfungi, on 03/04/2008, -1/+3If the whole "Ron Paul Revolution" showed us anything, it's that the internet doesn't really count for ***** when it comes to elections.
