Yeah because we can all trust a 1 /2 term senator compared to a senior senator that has given a tax break to SPECIFIC companies that want to produce electric cars and other sound economic plans.
Oh and doesnt want to raise taxes in time of recession ( recipe for ***** up the country)
Oh and Mccain being on just about every pork barrel busting committee there is.
Oh and that Mccain has been the largest pain the ass to Bush that Obama has ever dreamed (or even talked about being). In fact, out of all the candidates, Obama was the most ineffective and silent candidate in the Senate who is running for president.
But hey, lets not let facts get in the way of Digg !!- Elranzer, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2The fact that McCain is still in league with Bush and the rest of the Neo-Cons means he's automatically unfit for president, or even dog-catcher.
- jeffvvisoft, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Is the best the Republicans can offer?

Is that why his voting record parallels Bush's so closely?

- EatingPie, on 07/19/2008, -17/+13A better indicator would be how McCain handled his advisors as Senator for Arizona. That is far closer to a President's duty than a Campaign.
But, alas, McCain remains the devil on Digg (replacing Hillary of course), courtesy of Maki Maki et. al.
-Pie- radiofrequency, on 07/19/2008, -8/+6Barack Obama: 143 days of senate experience.
- Spuy767, on 07/19/2008, -4/+5One example of Obama's incompetence is houw he argued that offshore drilling would have no effect on the price of gasoline for three months, but 4 days after the executive ban on offshore drilling the price of a barrel of crude has dropped nearly 20$, the stock market has jumped 500$, and the price of fuel at the pump could drop by as much as $0.40. I'm sure that at some point, Obama will explain how he has always been for offshore drilling and that we were just misunderstanding him.
- bassjam5, on 07/19/2008, -3/+3The price at the pump dropped one cent. That is the number that really matters to Americans. Some economist say the drop is due to a very weak dollar. Not the chance for offshore drilling.
- Spuy767, on 07/19/2008, -3/+2I'm sorry that you expect results instantly. Picture the US economy as a GIANT ***** SHIP. It takes a while for this ship to turn. It usually takes a couple of weeks for the price at the pump to respond to crude oil, and the refiners are holding their breath for at least several days to make sure that crude doesn't jump back up. Give it a few weeks, and nothing too crazy happening in the country, and you'll see gas at $3.50 or less by the fall.
- oldgal, on 07/19/2008, -1/+1It is just as likely that the calming down of the situation with Iran is responsible...to be honest, I don't think anybody has a clue.
- jbrand45, on 07/19/2008, -1/+5The prices at my local pumps have not dropped one damn cent. They are actually $.03 higher now that when the ban on offshore drilling was lifted.
- aznmoron, on 07/19/2008, -0/+2Prices at my gas station dropped from 4.25 to 4.13... Just saying
- oldgal, on 07/19/2008, -0/+2I disagree. Managing advisors is much different than managing an operation. The executive branch is operational. It would be useful, however, to know how McCain managed his advisors. Any references?
- JoeVet, on 07/19/2008, -1/+3McCain is known for being unable to fire incompetent staff. He keeps them on the payroll and hires new staff to do their work. He is a typical old man and cannot make the tough decisions.

This country only need ONE THING to save it. It needs its govt to get the hell out of the way, and let its People do exactly what they've always done: Work their butts off in a fair market, and continue to be the most productive nation on earth.
Big govt is our enemy, NOT our salvation. Obama wants to grow govt, take more and more responsibility away from American adults (like healthcare for instance), tax us more, and get more people hooked on govt handouts, impose more and more govt restrictions.
McCain may be useless, but at least he won't be HARMFUL like Obama's huge govt vision.

All this free stuff Obama is promising? Newsflash: It's NOT free. Someone has to pay for it.
Really. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Or free health care.- WasabiBomb, on 07/19/2008, -1/+2Or a free war. Or a free, well, anything- which is basically what McCain is promising you, by saying he'll decrease taxes without decreasing spending.

- Julik, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3Not only do government programs not come free... but they end up costing way more than they expect them to cost... Look what the government has done with Social Security and Medicare...
- JoeVet, on 07/19/2008, -2/+3Take the profit out of health care and it will be much closer to free. The vast majority of your health care dollars go to maximizing shareholder value than to actual care.

- fromaworld, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Haha. "Much closer to free"?
That's like saying $800 billion is "much cheaper" than $1 trillion. It's still a lot of money!
Besides.... There's nothing wrong with making a profit. It motivates people to provide a quality service. You can bet that if there's a government healthcare program it's going to be waaay worse than the current health care system. - Wes00Silverado, on 07/19/2008, -2/+2I'm with crackberri. Its estimated that everyone's taxes will double if Obama gets in and McCain is pretty much down with all of the current taxes that we have in place. For example, McCain wants to leave the Inheritance tax like it is now, non-existent thanks to Pres. Bush getting rid of it. Obama wants to reinstate it and increase it to ~25%. I don't think that I should have to give the government 25% of what my loved ones worked hard for all their lives. McCain FTW!
- KazamaSmokers, on 07/19/2008, -1/+1"Its estimated that everyone's taxes will double if Obama gets in."
Congress has nothing to say about that sort of thing, eh? - mlavergn, on 07/19/2008, -0/+0That's nothing, I heard Obama will raise income taxes to 110% of your income! That's right, we'll owe more money that we can possibly earn! Also, he's only pro-abortion because he eats unborn babies for breakfast!. Moreover, I read that he's Sadam Hussein's half-brother and has all those "missing" WMDs from Iraq hidden in his basement. Also, he's got zero experience being President of the United States, it's true, he's only been a Senator, never the President, but you won't hear the liberal press telling you that! More shocking still, recently, I heard on Fox News that "Barak Obama" is really muslim for Beelzebub, and that he will bring about the start of tribulation, culminating in the rapture. If he wins, we're doooooomed I tell you! That's why I'm voting for Kodos!
- KazamaSmokers, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1I heard he'll raise taxes 15,000,000%! It's been conclusively proven! Using geometric logic!

- Tomskirf, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2wow, seriously, take the tin foil hat off. If you TRULY believe that Obama and the democratic party is even a smidgen different from the republican party then you truly have your eyes closed. Both will decieve in order to hold power. Ultimately my greatest concern is that we do not become a socialist country. Our fore fathers left countrys like those to start a new, free life in america. I do not want to see us becoming what our fore fathers fled. I'm no political genious but it's hard to argue with the fact that in just a couple hundred plus years we have become the dominant force in the world. I know this train of thought can upset some people and even I will be lumped into the "republican/american elitist" category (although anyone who knows me, knows I'm far from it) but you have to face the facts that there will always be the have's and the have nots. If Germany or Canada were the leading force in this world you can bet the rest of the world would be pissed at them. It's time to stop hating those who have because ultimately they have it for a reason. Yes, not all the right reasons sometimes but there are far more in this country (open your eyes) who have obtained success on their own merit. It is these people that you hurt the most in a socialist government. We all need incentive to go beyond the norm. Capitalism has proven successful in being that incentive. You can not argue with these results.
