In terms this _Presidential_ race, Obama has been treated like he is 100% African-American, regardless of what he might have said. And if he had portrayed himself as even "part white," he would have been vilified by both African-Americans and a number of racist & hypocritical Caucasians.

        That said, the problem with the picture is that by the time Obama leaves office, his hair will be white too.

        It's only in recent times that biracial children aren't considered black, it was once one drop of black blood that made you so. In the process, something stuck. You will find that there's about 11 million ways to be black, and many of them are white, latin, asian, etc...
        Essentially, he appears black, so like many Americans in similar circumstances, he is black.
