- ilovelegos, on 07/20/2008, -13/+9Americans are idiots!
- mikehosek, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5No.
Only 12% of them. - medfreak, on 07/21/2008, -1/+6And the 29% that still support Bush
And the 76% that still think Iraq was behind 9/11.
And...
- mikehosek, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5No.
- Tomboys, on 07/20/2008, -4/+22Well that's not so bad considering at least 50% of Americans were stupid enough to vote for Bush.
- redchina, on 07/20/2008, -6/+2Well according to this poll 12% of self identified Democrats also think Obama is a Muslim. So they are stupid too?
- TopherT, on 07/20/2008, -1/+8Yes.
- Sil369, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3They're the remaining 12% that approve of what he's doing now.
- redchina, on 07/20/2008, -6/+2Well according to this poll 12% of self identified Democrats also think Obama is a Muslim. So they are stupid too?
- PrettyDigger, on 07/20/2008, -7/+1Does Obama sound like Osama to the Americans?
- cg4et, on 07/20/2008, -4/+11http://www.fightthesmears.com
- redchina, on 07/20/2008, -3/+5Ok, so being a muslim is all of a sudden a bad thing? Come on, I thought Obama was a "different" politician. If he can't get elected for this reason alone he doesn't deserve to be president.
- TopherT, on 07/20/2008, -3/+4If you're stupid enough to believe that he is a Muslim, chances are you're the kind of arrogant ignorant prick who blindly hates all Muslims.
- ResonantToe, on 07/21/2008, -2/+3I think that comment says more about you and your belief on Muslims than anything else.
Just because it is an incorrect assumption doesn't mean that a person is a "arrogant ignorant prick"
I wrongly assumed this for quite sometime (until someone corrected me about a month ago) that didn't stop me supporting him or his ideas. Doesn't your constitution state that Race, Religion and Gender are not to be considered in these kinds of arenas? This kind of thought and speech on perpetuates the idea that in order to gain any kind of political sway within the U.S or western nations for that matter you have to be a Christian which is counter-intuitive not only to the idea of a democracy but counter-intuitive to the way most of you guys here on Digg speak!
Oh and one more thing. Pull your head out of your arse for a second and realize that no where in what Redchina said was he actually critizing anything beyond the implication made that Being Muslim is somehow bad. - TopherT, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1I was referencing a group of people in the United States who are xenophobic, it seems that you are not from here so I'll forgive you if you don't understand the reference. The sources which claim that Obama is a Muslim are full of hate and ignorant arrogant pricks, I'm sure that not all their readers are, its just a stereotype. Redchina was saying that people should be understanding and multicultural in attitude, I was saying that the people who believe this simply aren't so enlightened as all that and saying that being Muslim isn't a bad thing to them is a useless enterprise, better to simply call them pricks and move on. It appears there are exceptions to this rule; your experience, but I think you are the exception which proves the rule. It is not a story you hear often.
- ResonantToe, on 07/21/2008, -2/+3I think that comment says more about you and your belief on Muslims than anything else.

- NoDrama, on 07/20/2008, -0/+6Consider, too, the possibility that people have had it up to their eyeballs with polls and are now actively giving false answers intended to make their opponents looks stupid.
- TopherT, on 07/20/2008, -0/+3Poll-trolls?
- algaeturd, on 07/21/2008, -1/+1OK, that's pretty far fetching. Let's face it: Much of America is horribly misled and it doesn't bother them one bit that they don't know the truth. They don't care, don't know and still they will argue adamantly about how right they are in regards to everything.
- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -6/+1Only 12% have heard about Al - Taqiyya? Maybe he isn't, but you only THINK you know for SURE.
- 7Mystery, on 07/21/2008, -1/+4Is that what they taught at church today? Did they also teach you "Allah" was "moon god"?
You can put a gun to a Muslim person’s head and they wouldn’t denounce Allah, Mohamed, Jesus, or any other messengers (pput).
If they do denounce, then they’re non-believers. No coming back!
Only an idiot would believe Obama went to church for 20+ years, got married there, and baptized his children for a show off.- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Al - Taqiyya. A site named "Islam Watch" is one place where you will find it.
Today Islam is a religion of conquest, like Christianity was years ago.
If you buy a Koran for research, make sure it is complete. There are westernized versions that whitewash things like this.
Unlike the Bible, there is no "new" version that actually changes these practices. Al - Taqiyya is in effect today.
Everyone should care about how aggressive a religion is toward non members.
It is somewhat unlikely that Obama is a Muslim. But there are some things you cannot actually KNOW. Once you understand what this practice means, I think that many will agree that this is one of those things. (provided you realize there is no separation of church and state in the schools of Indonesia) - 7Mystery, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2I don't need to buy Koran....I've been reading it since I was 5. And I COMPLETELY believe in it!
And there is no faking is Islam.
According to your source, Al-Taqiyya is a Shiite concept. And may I remind you, Indonesia 100% Sunnis? - Cuchanu, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1@7Mystery: You're right and that's what I don't get about these people who think he could still be a Muslim: why in the hell would he go to Church for 20 years on the remote chance he'd become president? It doesn't make any F-ing sense. And like others have pointed out in the past: if there was some elaborate "Muslim Conspiracy" to take our country over with a Manchurian Candidate wouldn't it have made more sense for him to be a white guy without Hussein in his name?
@Kangalanatolian: Every religion can be scrutinized and bad things can be said, Islam is no exception, but either is Christianity.
- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Al - Taqiyya. A site named "Islam Watch" is one place where you will find it.

- reflex768, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can usually find a larger share that believes (or *says* it believes) in any ridiculous nonsense you'd care to randomly ask about. For instance, not long ago one poll found that 18% supposedly believe in geocentrism.
- nmessick, on 07/21/2008, -1/+1From everything I've seen of Obama (especialy the compassion forum where they talked about these issues) I have little question that any faith that he has is simply to further his campain. I know he says he went to that wacko chuch for years, but he sure does not talk like those who have. He seems ackward and fake when talking about that part of his life.
- Crackerpat, on 07/21/2008, -8/+1I should hope 100% thinks that he is Muslim considering that he refuses to stand for the Pledge Of Allegiance!
- ResonantToe, on 07/21/2008, -2/+1One nation under [insert chosen diety of chosen faith here].....
Right.....- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1God. The one who bestowed our rights upon us. This concept could not be more important to liberty.
Because God gave us our rights, ONLY God can take them away legitimately.
Mohammed is very clear about how discriminating Allah is. YOU WILL BELIEVE OR SERVE THOSE WHO DO. If not you, then your children.
How many Atheists exist in the Islamic countries?
The practice of Al - Taqiyya is something every non - Muslim should understand.
- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1God. The one who bestowed our rights upon us. This concept could not be more important to liberty.

- Carl306, on 07/21/2008, -2/+7I'm still failing to see why it should make a difference if he's a Muslim or not. Who the hell cares?
- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Not all religions will agree to stay out of your government. The Muslims in Europe are insisting on using Sharia law!
You pay considerably more taxes and have far less rights, if you are NOT Muslim in many if not most Muslim lands.
- Kangalanatolian, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Not all religions will agree to stay out of your government. The Muslims in Europe are insisting on using Sharia law!
- ofdeath, on 07/21/2008, -6/+0buried all
- ansecos, on 07/21/2008, -1/+5then 12% of americans are idiots?
- medfreak, on 07/21/2008, -2/+5Considering his mother was an atheist, and he barely had any influence from his father or step father who I think were both not-so-religious Muslims, I theorize that Obama himself is an atheist / agnostic. He probably got out of an Ivy league university 20 years ago, thinking he wants to pursue a glamorous career in politics, and went shopping for the first influential church he could find, since 20 years ago, and even now an atheist would not stand a chance in open elections.
- rewinn, on 07/21/2008, -3/+2A theory, supported by no facts, is basically a religious belief.
Obama's observed behavior is that of a Christian: churchgoing, having kids baptized, et cetera. The logical and scientific inference is that he's a Christian, but of course you're entitled, under our 1st Amendment, to your religion of "Obama-Is-An-Atheist"- medfreak, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3I never claimed that I had any evidence, appart from the circumstantial evidence regarding his background, nor do I claim that that is the only right option.
But the fact of the matter is, many politicians proclaim religion to succeed in the US. And no, a theory cannot be a religion, if not supported by facts, unless it is proclaimed infallible, and itself is a fact.

- algaeturd, on 07/21/2008, -1/+5Much of this country is horribly misled and very few care. They're rather spend 2 hours arguing about how right they are than to spend 10 minutes actually educating themselves. Funniest part of this whole shame is that many of the Bush supporters still hold out about how 'right' they were by voting him in simply because of 'pride' and 'saving face'...you know, the same reasons we stayed in Iraq after we realized how wrong we were in starting the war.
America: Where 'saving face' and 'being right' is more important than the truth.
And that's the bottom line with what's wrong....truth doesn't mean anything anymore. To the media, the government or the people of this country.
