Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association plan to sign a free trade deal on October 18
The Straits Times reports that talks began in 2012, resumed in 2025 and concluded in July 2026.

The European Free Trade Association includes Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. EFTA has said the agreement would cover investment, intellectual property rights and government procurement, among other areas.
