US adds BGI Genomics, MGI Tech and Shenzhen BGI Technology to Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List

The Department of Homeland Security added BGI Genomics, MGI Tech and Shenzhen BGI Technology, which the US also calls BGI Group, to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List on Oct. 28, Reuters reports. Their goods face an import block unless exporters rebut the forced-labor presumption. DHS alleges links to recruitment and genetic-data surveillance in Xinjiang; MGI Tech rejects the allegations, and BGI Group denies engaging in forced labor.
