Average US gasoline prices during Trump's second term edge above Biden's

Reuters, citing AAA, reports that Americans paid more on average for gasoline and diesel during Trump's second term than during Biden's presidency. As of October 2026, regular gasoline had averaged $3.472 a gallon under Trump versus $3.471 under Biden; diesel averaged $4.343 versus $4.078. The report notes analysts' warning that inflation can make nominal price comparisons misleading.
