TRAI issues draft audit manual for DRM-based digital addressable systems

The Economic Times reports that India’s Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) is seeking comments by October 30, 2026, on its draft audit manual for DRM-based digital addressable systems. The draft sets out compliance and subscription audit procedures for IPTV systems, including operator apps that perform set-top box functions. It calls for monthly reconciliation of subscriber-management and DRM data, with reports kept for at least three years or three audit cycles, whichever is later, subject to longer applicable requirements.
