Pakistan's LPG price surge forces rickshaw drivers to cut meals
Pakistan's LPG prices rose 56% for a 12-kg cylinder within days of two Iran border crossings closing, traders say.
TLDR
Traders say the border closures halted LPG imports from Iran. Lahore rickshaw driver Rashid Ali, who once made $6.50 a day, is now lucky to make $3; his family has cut back to two meals daily. The Awami Rickshaw Union says about 70% of its members' 43,000 auto-rickshaws run on LPG.
