India reportedly orders nicotine pouch crackdown, citing health risks

The Economic Times, citing a letter, reports that India has directed states to take enforcement action against nicotine pouch sales, citing public health concerns and risks to children. The report says the health ministry described the tobacco-free products as illegal and unapproved in India, with increasing availability online and offline. A federal drug panel has also recommended no new nicotine formulations, according to the report.
