Limpet mines reportedly disable oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz
The UAE-owned Louise-1 reportedly caught fire after two attached mines detonated; UKMTO says its crew was unharmed.
TLDR
Al-Monitor reports that the UK Maritime Trade Organization said attackers aboard a small boat attached two limpet mines to the Louise-1. Their detonation Thursday night disabled the tanker and caused an engine-room fire; the crew was unharmed. The US military had not confirmed the attack. Al-Monitor says it may signal a shift in Iranian tactics and appeared to undermine Pentagon claims to have fully cleared and opened the strait.
