India's insurance regulator eyes January 2028 beta for Public Insurance Registry

ANI reports in The Economic Times that IRDAI Chairman Ajay Seth is discussing a January 2028 beta, not a full launch, for the proposed Public Insurance Registry. The registry would set common standards for sharing insurance information among insurers and financial institutions. Seth said the Insurance Information Bureau is proposed as its nonprofit host, and the deadline for feedback was extended to October 17, 2026.
