Homebuying interest wanes as rents rise in German cities

Handelsblatt reports that higher financing costs are leaving more people hesitant to buy apartments in German cities. It says their interest is shifting back toward the also-expensive rental market. Rents are rising, while the effects on purchase and rental prices differ across cities including Berlin, Cologne and Munich.
