FTC demands Anthropic executives testify in consumer harm probe

An FTC spokesperson told Axios the agency sent demands on October 26 for Anthropic executives to testify in its consumer harm probe. Axios reports the FTC had also subpoenaed Anthropic and OpenAI for documents about safety incidents, but had confirmed testimony demands only for Anthropic. The demand came the day Anthropic pitched investors on an IPO.
