Anthropic Opens Research Preview of Claude Duet, a Proactive Agent App

Anthropic opened a research preview of Claude Duet on Oct. 21, describing a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. The company says Duet brings matters needing attention to users, completes tasks they request, keeps working when they step away and checks with them before acting on their behalf.

Business Insider reporter Stephen Council writes that, according to Anthropic, Duet will send users a morning brief about their connected apps and message them when something needs attention. Council says the app asks for approval on certain tasks. He also reports that Anthropic says it built Duet around its Opus 5.5 model.
