TLDR

A September 15, 2026 post says oil executives are warning of a fuel crisis, citing depleted global fuel stocks and an attack that knocked out a Saudi crude pipeline bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. The account says China relied on its stockpiles for nearly half its crude consumption over the last several months, but has resumed larger purchases from international suppliers as those reserves have thinned. It also says the Trump administration denied rumors of a U.S. export ban.

@wholemarsOil executives say the great fuel crisis is here. Countries around the world have been depleting global fuel stocks for more than 6 months now. On top of that, a crucial crude oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia that bypassed the Strait of Hormuz is down following a recent attack. China has been relying on its own stockpiles of crude for nearly half of its consumption over the last several months, but as those stockpiles have thinned it has resumed larger purchases from international suppliers. The Trump administration denied rumors of a US export ban, saying it might not “‘magically bring down prices”. Overall this looks like an absolutely fucked up situation that is now set to last well through the midterms. I strongly encourage all families to purchase at least 1 Tesla or other electric vehicle if they can to reduce their families dependency on fossil fuels while this conflict continues.
