Adani Ports’ Colombo West terminal doubles capacity to 3.2 million TEUs

The Economic Times reports that a $750 million expansion raised Colombo West International Terminal’s capacity from 1.6 million to 3.2 million TEUs, or twenty-foot equivalent units. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya inaugurated the expansion, according to an Adani Ports release cited by the paper. The release says the added capacity lets the terminal berth three ultra-large container ships at once.
