A claimed gap between crude and refined fuel shipments through Hormuz

A September 30 post says crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz are back at prewar levels, while refined fuel shipments are down to 677,000 barrels a day from 3.6 million before the war. Another post says Iran raised alerts at 46 critical infrastructure facilities.

TLDR

One September 30 post claims crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz have returned to prewar levels while refined fuel shipments have fallen to 677,000 barrels a day from 3.6 million before the war. It attributes the gap to refinery damage. Another post cites initial reports that Iranian troops are receiving CBRN protection kits and says Iran raised alerts at 46 critical infrastructure facilities that day.

@mitchellvii🇺🇸 🇮🇷 CRUDE OIL VS REFINED FUEL - TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! Here's the part of the oil story nobody is explaining. Crude oil is back to prewar levels through the Strait of Hormuz. But the fuel, the actual diesel and gasoline, is not. Refined shipments out of there are down to 677,000 barrels a day, from 3.6 million before the war. Why the gap? Because you can reroute a barrel of crude, but you can't reroute a refinery. Crude gets piped and shuttled around Iran. Fuel has to be made at a plant, and those plants took damage in the war. Ukraine is pounding Russia's refineries too, so the whole world is short on diesel. And here is where it hits home. Since 2020 America shut down 11 refineries. We can pump the crude, but we have been closing the very plants that turn it into fuel! That is why diesel is at record highs. It is not a crude problem. It is a refining problem. We do not just need to pump our own oil. We need to refine our own fuel!
@HormuzLetterBREAKING: Iranian troops in southern Iran are now being issued CBRN protection kits, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear gear, per initial reports. Iran raised the alert level at 46 critical infrastructure facilities today in anticipation of strikes on its territory, and said yesterday it is preparing for the possibility of a wide-scale war.
@BrettErickson28It is increasingly clear that Iran is beginning their process of ramping up the economic pressure on the United States and global economy. Between the FOUR (at least) vessels struck along the Strait of Hormuz, potential strikes on ADNOC and Abaiq facilities (to be confirmed), and multiple ALLEGED terrorist attempts in the last few days… The world is spicy… and getting red hot.
@EricLDaugh🚨 BOOM: The "experts" are shocked after oil is SURGING to pre-war flows in Hormuz "We've taken out over the last couple of days more oil than we took out during the pre-war days from the Hormuz Strait!" They said it was impossible, but now the strait is AMERICAN CONTROLLED No wonder Trump is in no rush for a crappy deal with Iran. They are powerless.
