Cochin Shipyard has reportedly received orders for more than 40 ships from overseas

The Economic Times reports that Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said state-owned Cochin Shipyard has received orders to build more than 40 ships from countries including the US, Germany and Norway. A senior ministry official said some Russian entities have expressed interest in building ships with Indian shipyards, including Cochin Shipyard. Sonowal said Belgium has expressed willingness to work with India on shipbuilding.
