Volkswagen reportedly plans to freeze salaries for 660,000 staff worldwide until 2030

Reuters, published by The Economic Times, reports that Volkswagen’s works council said it received internal information about management’s plan to freeze pay for 660,000 staff worldwide until 2030. Sueddeutsche Zeitung earlier reported the plan, citing internal documents, and said it also includes cuts to variable pay, benefits and jobs. Volkswagen declined to comment on “speculation” and said labor-cost talks would be the forum for proposals.
