India’s biotech talent and the research funding gap

The Economic Times reports that Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks praised India’s scientists and manufacturing know-how but said its research funding environment is not conducive to innovation. He contrasted it with China’s ecosystem for discovery research, clinical trials and animal experiments, and said Lilly is open to discussing partnerships with Indian biotech companies.
