Petronet LNG seeks US-sourced LNG under renewed Qatar deal

India’s top gas importer is discussing whether some LNG under its renewed Qatar deal could come from the US starting in 2028. The contract covers 7.5 million metric tons annually and runs through 2048. Petronet executive Vivek Mittal described Qatar as open to considering the request, but his account did not establish a US-sourced allocation. The talks come amid disruptions to Qatari supplies.
