Walmart unveils tools to let AI agents shop for customers

Business Insider reports Walmart announced two tools for third-party AI shopping agents: profiles that link purchases to the bot that made them, and a gateway that lets agents shop without navigating Walmart’s website. Walmart says customers will be able to manage agent permissions and spending limits, while the gateway can limit what customer information is shared. Amazon, by contrast, has blocked outside shopping agents, including Meta’s Muse.
