Hermès and Cartier sales reportedly fell by as much as double digits in mainland China

Bloomberg reports that sales at Hermès and Cartier in mainland China fell by as much as double digits in August and September compared with a year earlier, citing two research firms it surveyed. Their data show both brands had been relatively unaffected when a broader luxury slowdown began in June. Bloomberg says the newer declines suggest that even wealthy shoppers are cutting back.
