Microsoft's diagnostic AI reportedly more than twice as accurate as general physicians in complex-case tests
Daily Maverick's Reuters report says an “orchestrator” selects patient questions and tests, updating diagnoses as results arrive.
TLDR
A Reuters report published by Daily Maverick says Microsoft researchers tested their step-by-step diagnostic AI on more than 300 unusual, complex medical cases. The researchers say it was more than twice as accurate at working up patients and determining diagnoses as general physicians using textbooks and the internet. They also found that its diagnostic work-ups cost less and plan to test the tool for emergency-department triage with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
