Student protests could close up to 500 French schools on October 5

The Hindu, citing France’s education minister, says up to 500 schools across France were expected to close fully or partly on October 5, 2026, because of student protests. Separately, a post claims France’s annual growth has averaged 1.3% since 2007, while borrowing has risen by an average of 6% a year over the same period.
