Uniqlo scraps planned ¥100 price hike on ¥290 socks after shopper outcry in Japan

The Japan Times, carrying a Bloomberg report, says Uniqlo reversed the planned socks increase less than two weeks after announcing broader clothing price hikes. The reversal followed complaints from shoppers on social media. Fast Retailing said it reconsidered the socks increase because they are an essential everyday item.
