Toyota reportedly plans to build next-generation Corolla in China from 2028

Nikkei Asia reports Toyota plans to start producing the next-generation Corolla in China in 2028 through FAW Toyota, its venture with China FAW Group. The model will use a platform that accommodates electric, hybrid and gasoline powertrains. Nikkei says the flexibility is expected to speed development and lower costs as Toyota contends with slowing sales in China.
