India's alternative accommodation market projected to reach $4.7 billion in gross booking value by FY29

The Economic Times reports that a Booking.com and VIDEC Consultants study projects India's alternative accommodation market will grow from $2.6 billion in gross booking value in FY26 to $4.7 billion by FY29. The study says digitally distributed listings exceeded 200,000 in FY26, up 26% from FY25, with growth shifting toward tier-two cities, religious centers and emerging leisure destinations.
