Oil reportedly hit a session high after record-low Midwest gasoline stocks were reported

ZeroHedge says US gasoline stockpiles were at their lowest since November 2014. Separately, one post cites UKMTO on tankers struck by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz; another says Houthis appear to have struck Saudi Arabia’s Abqaiq oil facility.

TLDR

ZeroHedge reported on September 30 that oil hit a session high after DOE figures showed record-low Midwest gasoline stocks. Its linked summary says US stockpiles fell by 1.68 million barrels. Separately, one post cites UKMTO saying tankers were struck by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz. Another says Houthis appear to have struck the Abqaiq oil facility and describes satellite imagery it says shows a smoke plume.

@sentdefenderWith reports continuing to come in that Iran has targeted commercial and naval shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Centre has provided updates for incidents reported yesterday, saying that tankers were struck by unknown projectiles in the strait.
@HormuzLetterBREAKING: Yemen's Houthis appear to have struck the Abqaiq oil processing facility in eastern Saudi Arabia, the largest crude stabilization plant in the world, handling around 5 to 7% of global oil supply. EUMETSAT Meteosat imagery shows a black smoke plume roughly 90 km long trailing from the site for at least seven hours, from 06:45 UTC until the satellite lost light at sunset. Abqaiq processes the crude from Ghawar, the world's largest oilfield, and feeds the export terminals at Ras Tanura and Juaymah.
