Japan's largest union group seeks 6% wage hikes in 2027 talks

Bloomberg reports Rengo wants affiliated unions to seek overall pay increases of at least 5% and ideally 6% in the 2027 wage talks. The Business Times, carrying Reuters reporting, says the federation represents about 7 million workers and its targets guide member unions. Rengo plans to formally approve the policy in December 2026.
