UK house prices reportedly flat in October as annual growth slows to 0.5%

Nationwide’s UK house-price figures put October 2026 prices at an average £273,566, unchanged from September, the Financial Times reports. Annual growth eased from 0.8% to 0.5%, its weakest pace since January 2024. Nationwide’s chief economist attributed the slowdown partly to economic uncertainty and pressure on mortgage pricing; a Capital Economics economist forecast further price falls, not a confirmed decline.
