Retatrutide reportedly delivered over twice Ozempic's weight loss in a Type 2 diabetes trial

USA TODAY reports Lilly said its 80-week trial found average weight losses of 44.3 and 47.4 pounds at two retatrutide doses, versus 20.9 pounds with Ozempic. Lilly also reported faster blood-sugar reductions, but more participants stopped taking the 12 mg retatrutide dose because of side effects (7.9%) than stopped taking Ozempic (2.7%). Novo Nordisk said Ozempic should not be judged on weight loss alone, citing its other clinical evidence and safety profile.
