South Korea proposes nearly doubling AI and tech megaproject funding in 2027

The proposed allocation is nearly twice the 2026 amount and sits within a 2027 budget of 820.9 trillion won, first proposed in September. Lee also outlined 4.7 trillion won for frontier AI projects aimed at developing a national AI model with world-leading performance. The budget still needs parliamentary approval.
