UN climate chief urges AI firms to set emissions targets and cut energy use

Bloomberg reports that UN climate chief Simon Stiell called on AI firms to adopt emissions targets and reduce their energy use as data centers’ power consumption is expected to soar. Stiell said AI company leaders are “on thin ice” with the public as energy costs rise.
