Hyundai reportedly seeks to close self-driving gap with Tesla and BYD

Bloomberg reports that Minwoo Park is leading Hyundai’s effort to catch up with Tesla and China’s BYD in autonomous driving. Appointed earlier in 2026, Park became Hyundai Motor Group’s youngest divisional president and inherited a unit divided by turf wars, the outlet says. Bloomberg says BYD already offers technology that lets cars navigate city roads.
