POLITICO reports that EU lawmakers have called on the Commission to stop European firms and banks from applying U.S. sanctions as Washington weighs measures against the International Criminal Court over its actions on Israel. Dutch lawmaker Dirk Gotink criticized automatically applying U.S. sanctions, saying it “stems from the time when we thought that the Americans were still our friends.”
