Tech fortunes among the 500 richest gained a record $845 billion in the first nine months of 2026

Bloomberg reports that roughly 100 technology fortunes among the world’s 500 richest gained a combined $845 billion through September 30, 2026. According to its Billionaires Index, that was the largest gain ever for the first nine months of a year. Bloomberg says the other fortunes on the index lost a combined $62 billion.
