Changpeng Zhao asks Elon Musk to stop trolling after reported $6.3 billion Binance hack

Binance cofounder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao asked Elon Musk to stop “trolling” the exchange on Friday, Oct. 30, after Musk posted about a hack that CNBC reported amounted to about $6.3 billion late Thursday. CNBC’s timeline places Zhao’s reply to Musk at 09:19 UTC.

“Elon, have a lot of respect for you, but bad time to troll. Please stop,” Zhao wrote, according to CNBC’s transcription. He added in the same post: “Our SPCX shares (from our $500m investment in your Twitter takeover) are worth more than a billion. Would appreciate if you show a little support. Thanks!” The investment amount and share value are Zhao’s figures.

Musk’s posts did not all address Zhao. shows him quoting a hack report with “Everyday is Zeroday,” replying to another account about AI, and responding to @HuaweiMate6bruh with a grimacing emoji. CNBC described his emojis as appearing to mock the exchange.
