Stellantis shares in Milan were up 14.3% at 1430 GMT on Oct. 28, 2026, after the automaker reported higher third-quarter adjusted operating earnings and expressed confidence in its cost-cutting plans, Reuters reported.
Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes rose to €256 million from €90 million a year earlier, beating the €191 million consensus in a Reuters poll. Revenue was broadly unchanged at €37.6 billion. But the quarter also brought a €4 billion industrial cash outflow, according to Reuters.
Finance chief Joao Laranjo told analysts Stellantis would exceed its €6 billion run-rate cost-saving target by 2028. CEO Antonio Filosa said the company believed it could exceed an initial €2.4 billion savings target in 2027 and was on track to implement at least 40% of its planned efficiencies by the end of 2026. Filosa called a return to positive cash flow in 2027 “a must have” and said Stellantis was on track to deliver it, Reuters reported.
Fabio Caldato, a fund manager at Stellantis shareholder AcomeA Sgr, told Reuters that investors wanted concrete evidence of a turnaround and that positive cash flow in 2027 was key. For now, that return remains a management forecast following a quarter with a substantial cash outflow.
