Trump signs executive order aimed at lowering mortgage costs

POLITICO reports Trump signed the order on October 22. It directs the Federal Housing Finance Agency to create a pilot program to cancel mortgage insurance for eligible borrowers with government-backed loans and expand access to less expensive alternatives to title insurance. It also calls on Veterans Affairs and Agriculture to lower rates on mortgages offered through their housing programs and establishes a task force to support manufactured housing.
