Microsoft reportedly plans to reveal quarterly Azure revenue in dollars for the first time

Microsoft plans to disclose quarterly Azure revenue in dollars for the first time in its fiscal first-quarter earnings report, CNBC reports. The report is due after the market close on Oct. 28, with an executives’ call scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET, according to CNBC.

MarketWatch reporter Christine Ji writes that Wall Street has sought the figure for more than a decade. Azure is Microsoft’s cloud-computing platform, and Ji says the company has never previously reported its quarterly revenue in dollars.

The quarter ended Sept. 30, and Microsoft plans to report under two operating segments instead of three, CNBC says. It would be the first two-segment report since 1998. For the past 11 years, three segments divided up its Azure, Office and Windows businesses.
