The Boston Globe reports that, according to minutes from the Fed’s most recent meeting, most officials expected another interest rate increase would likely be needed in 2026 to combat inflation. Officials unanimously agreed inflation was still elevated and had not made much progress toward their 2 percent target in recent months.
