Qilin ransomware group reportedly targeted 53 companies in Japan

The Straits Times reports that Japan's National Police Agency said Qilin targeted 53 companies in the country, including manufacturers, hospitals and schools. The agency says the ransomware group has attacked some 4,000 companies worldwide. Qilin is believed to be behind a 2025 cyberattack on Japanese beverage maker Asahi Group Holdings.
