Russia reportedly agrees to take around 70,000 skilled Indian workers in 2026

The Economic Times, citing people familiar with the meeting, reports that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told a parliamentary panel Russia had agreed to take around 70,000 skilled Indian workers in 2026, especially in construction and logistics. The briefing also covered plans to expand trade and energy cooperation and India’s efforts to secure the release of its nationals serving in the Russian military.
