Singapore’s NEA issues haze-law notices to 10 Singapore-based firms, including Asia Pulp & Paper
The Straits Times reports the firms were asked for information on their links to fires in Indonesia.
TLDR
The Straits Times reports that Singapore’s National Environment Agency issued the notices on October 23 as it widened its probe into fires in Indonesia linked to haze in Singapore. The 10 firms are in the oil palm or forestry business. Representatives of firms that fail to respond could face fines of up to $5,000, up to a month in jail, or both. Earlier notices to 10 Indonesian firms carried no penalty for non-response.
