Andreessen Horowitz reportedly announces a16z Frontier rebrand for its crypto operation

Fortune reports Andreessen Horowitz announced an Oct. 22 rebrand of a16z Crypto as a16z Frontier, broadening its $2.2 billion fund’s scope to AI and robotics while continuing to back crypto startups. The expansion follows a May statement that the fund was “100% dedicated to investing in crypto entrepreneurs.” Fortune, citing The Information, says general partner Ali Yahya has told some investors he plans to leave and launch a startup.
