Mistral publicly releases Large 4, an open-weight AI model

Reuters reports Mistral released Large 4 to the public on October 29 after testing it with governments and corporate users. Mistral says organizations can run the model on their own systems to help identify and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Fortune reports the company calls its trillion-parameter model the best open model built in the West and claims it narrowly leads on a coding-agent benchmark.
