TLDR

One post says the Crypto Clarity Act failed to secure the 60 Senate votes needed to advance. Another attributes the setback to concerns that the bill’s ethics rules were too weak to restrict senior government officials and a sitting president from issuing, sponsoring or profiting from crypto projects while in office.

@FinanceLancelotBREAKING: The Crypto Clarity Act fails to pass the U.S. Senate The bill is effectively dead until the midterms when a new Congress takes office in January 2027 Its failure was over concern that the ethics rules were not strong enough to restrict senior government officials and a sitting president from issuing, sponsoring, or profiting from crypto projects while in office. This means that the U.S. Treasury's plan to fund the U.S. debt using T-Bill backed stablecoins remains in limbo, sparking fear Treasury yields could continue higher.
